In a time when we are drowning in suffering and absurdity, the promises of democracy must be pursued and achieved. This discussion explores the meanings of democracy and liberty and provides structure and direction for our struggle toward our ideals. It covers ongoing campaigns and the growing democracy movement across Pennsylvania that is trying to ring the Liberty Bell and ‘Proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants.’ Rabbi Michael Pollack grew up in Rockville, Maryland. During his last year of rabbinical school in Philadelphia, he co-founded March on Harrisburg, a group dedicated to making corruption illegal and taking our democracy where it’s never been before by passing anti-corruption, pro-democracy bills in Pennsylvania. Michael lives in Philadelphia, and his hobbies include convincing politicians to not be corrupt, long marches through the Pennsylvania countryside, and sitting down in inconvenient places in the State Capitol.
