About the event
Self-directed education, sometimes called unschooling, is an approach to education that encourages life-long curiosity and self-motivation informed by principles of consent and liberation. Lindsay Alissa King is a writer, a mother and a member of the Ethical Society. She completed a Ph.D. in the history at UCLA, and she now works as a writer, journalist, and nonprofit administrator for projects relating to dance, history, and the arts for organizations like Bruce Wood Dance and Kitchen Dog Theater. Lindsay has traveled extensively and lived abroad in multiple countries, and she is passionate about hearing the stories of people everywhere. She homeschools her three kids, who you may often see running around the building on Rittenhouse Square.
